Life Cycle of a Pretty Flower...

I was walking home from work (tho I wasn't actually working) with Taylor and noticed this flower (not sure what it's called) in its various stages in one little area. I thought it was really cool and decided to photograph it and share with all of you.

If you know the name of it please comment.

Random Thoughts...

Today is a post of my random thoughts and likes. A rather personal post. Stuff that just runs through my head. Well lets see lately I've been trying to break into photography with sweet slowness of molasses, but I will not give up.

A quote from my husband's success class book says "Successfully intelligent people have a can do attitude. They realize that the limits to what they can accomplish are often in what they tell themselves they cannot do, rather than in what they really cannot do." - Robert Sternberg.

I was thinking of different random movie quotes that I love so much. Like this one that makes me laugh because it goes into an epic scene. "What country are you from? (what) What?... What ain't a country I ever heard of, do they speak English in What?"- Jules {Pulp Fiction}.
  Or maybe the very well known quote "You can't handle the truth!"- Col Jessup {A Few Good Men}
By the way I just recently watched that movie for the first time.

Oh and who can forget "He can call me a Flower if he wants to, ha ha, I don't mind"- Flower {Bambi}.

Then there are the many, many blogs that I follow. Like Shannon Morse, she is a great friend and photographer. Then I was reading this blog and the newest post on there is just great. It's by Denise Nicole Photography and it's on the subject of posing your clients and how to interact with them. So informative. I love it. The there is Kristen Booth she is so beautiful. She is also going to be hired as my wedding photography. Jessie Shaw is a new found friend. I recently met her and she is great and so loving. Her site has so much information on photography.
If you look at the photo on the top of the page it was done by Shannon. She is awesome. She is also my "mentor" in a way. She is very helpful in my dream of being a photographer. YAY.

Then there is my love of music. I don't discriminate either. I love everything. Well except most rap and all jazz. My favorite is of course country. I grew up on a farm, in the country, I was definitely a "tomboy". I love everything country from Patsy Cline to Zac Brown Band.

I love oldies as well but you will be surprised, I don't like the Beatles or Elvis. But I do like one of each of their songs. "Can't Buy Me Love"- Beatles (also love the movie) and this one by Elvis.

Metal/Rock oh yea. I love Black Sabbath, System of a Down, Lynard Skynard. (FREEBIRD).

OK I'll stop with the videos now but you catch my drift right. I love all things music.

Another love that I have is God. I love Him with every part of my being. Jesus Christ is my personal savior. I became a Christian on August 22nd 2005. I joined the church, Grace Fellowship of Dixon. He brings joy to my life. He also gave me my wonderful husband and beautiful daughter.

CARS. Nothing else says it right. I love cars, well I love CLASSIC cars. My favorites are Mustangs from 1962-1972. Oh goodness I melt to the sound of these beautiful cars. Yes I know they are just cars but come on they are BEAUTIFUL! My dream is to own a 1969 Mustang super cobra jet 428. Oh yea.

I move on to movies. I am a huge fan of the horror and comedy genres. The bloodier the better, not sure why, because if I watch a bloody war movie I feel kinda sick. Weird. I love the Harry Potter movies and can't wait for the last one to enter the theatre. I love Star Wars especially Yoda. YEEEE. Disney movies, can't get enough. Parodies are great too. But they are getting old. Kevin Smith is a great comedy director. Though some people don't like his taste in comedy. To each their own. M. Night Shamalon, wow what intrigue his movies bring to ya. The endings just throw you for a loop.

Last but definitely not least. My family. Kris and Taylor are my world. Kris takes care of me like a man should. He is my rock and support. He loves his daughter with his every breath. It was the greatest thing to see when she was born the love that was in his eyes for that little girl. Taylor grows more and more in my heart and she is so smart. I can't believe she will be two next month. Wow how time has flown. And it's not slowing down anytime soon.

HAPPY DADDY DAY!!!!

I love having two dads. I have my Dad who I grew up with on a huge farm. We had animals, friends and family. He taught us how to mow the lawn and use power tools and drive cars. I love my Dad, he is a big lovable teddy bear. He also taught me how to hunt and fish.
Now I have two dads. Robert (funny my dad is named Robert. How strange!) is also a great dad. He has five children that he absolutely loves. Though if he could he would have all his children (including the married into and grandchildren) all live under his roof. LOL. But that is one of the things that make him great. He also is a person that helped me to accept God as my personal savior. I can go to him with all my spiritual and personal questions. I love that he came into my life.
I also have the WORLD'S GREATEST DAD, in the form of my wonderful husband. He is wrapped around Taylor's little finger. He does all he can for that little girl and I love him more and more everyday. He definitely go to the ends of the world for her.
Then I have two wonderful brother in laws who are great dads as well. Ryan and Kurt. Ryan is a new dad not even a year yet, to baby Emma. But still he is a wonderful dad and I love him and never have really said that he is a brother in law, I just call him "Little Bro". Then Kurt who married my oldest sister one year before I met Kris. He has two wonderful children, Owen and Kamdyn.
There are soooo many other dads out there that I know and love and I want them all to know that they are great dads too.

To Grandmother's House We Go...

Ya'll know the story: "Over the river and through the woods". LOL. Here in Dixon I don't have a river or woods so it's: "Over the puddles and through the streets". LOL. I know I know. Silly Kirsty. Oh well. Well yesterday Taylor and I walked over to Grandma's house to hang out for the day. Along the way I got some shots off on my camera.

Here we go:

Yet Another Of My Beautiful Daughter...

She is the most beautiful little girl in the world. I know it's a bias statement but she really is. I love her with every ounce of my being. I love her laugh, the way she says "I Love You" and how she says "Mommy". She is testing out all her words. She is talking in sentences and "reading" books. She loves to sit in her rocking chair and read her books. It's the cutest thing. She loves to swim and loves to play outside. She gets super excited when her daddy gets home from school or work. She is his little hip attachment. She is my little ANGEL!

One for the artistic side of me. LOL

Sacramento Zoo...

So today, my friend Miranda and her beautiful children, Taylor and I went to the Sacramento Zoo. It was great. We went through the entire thing. They played at the playground and oohed and awed at the animals. I have to say my two favorites were the hyena, which by the way I didn't know they were so big, and the hornbills. They sounded like barking birds. LOL. Thats just weird. Well halfway through the day Taylor got really upset and just wanted to stay in the stroller. Later I found out she had a fever and wasn't feeling good. I felt horrible. But she is doing fine now that daddy is home.

Now for the pictures:

She wanted to "pet the kitty" which was a giant male lion.

 They were wrestling

Giant garter snake having maintence surgery.

I absolutely love green tree snakes
