A New Day..

Well I have been studying how to use my camera and the features it has and all that. I'd have to say that this is an awesome camera and I'm so glad to own it. I read that you should get a "photo buddy" and a "mentor". Well I have both. Through the computer I have my good friends father, (and becoming my friend) Jim Rector (here's his photo a day blog). He does beautiful landscape and macro work. Those are the two main fields I want to work with. I also have a mentor, who is also my "photo buddy", her name is Shannon Morse. She is a great friend. She has done plenty of photo shoots for me and my family. She also does some very excellent work. Also I would love to thank Paul Sheldon for advise and guidance.

I have a couple GREAT shots this week. Here they are:

First of course is my beautiful little girl. I love how the sun is coming down on her face.
The photo is done with automatic/portriat setting.

These two are good friends of mine. Paul and Franklin. Having a good convo on my camera Sunday after church. Paul also is a photographer in his free time. He also was the one who showed me the best site for photography IMO. The photo is done with autnmatic/no flash setting.

I learned this effect from Digital Photography School website. You basically choose a manual setting on your camera and while holding the shutter you turn the zoom on your lens. I choose to use the AV/manual setting on this. Auto ISO f20.

With this one, I love that the sky is sooo white that she is perfectly outlined. Auto/portrait.

With this, I wasn't sure what I was going for but I absolutely love it. Automatic/landscape.
